Preschoolers

Two Year Old Room

During class, we will have circle time followed by the curriculum to ensure that your child will learn his/her colors, alphabet, numbers and other educational building blocks for the upcoming primary years of leanrning.

Each day your child will need to bring the following things and please label them for your child.

  • Back Pack
  • Jacket in Cool months
  • Pull-ups
  • Underwear (4 pairs)
  • 5 pants or shorts we go through clothes like crazy
  • Socks / extra shoes
  • Wipes
  • Blanket
  • Diaper rash cream, Powder, or other ointment if needed
Classroom

Please, no sandals – closed toes shoes only.

Please do not dress your child in clothes that are unable to be ruined. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Social and Emotional

  • Copies others, especially adults and older children
  • Gets excited when around- other children
  • Shows more and more independence
  • Plays mainly beside other children, but is beginning to include other children, such as in   chase games

Language/Communication

  • Points to things or pictures when they are named
  • Knows names of familiar people and body parts
  • Says sentences with 2 to 4 words
  • Follows simple instructions

Cognitive (learning, thinking, problem-solving)

  • Begins to sort shapes and colors
  • Completes sentences and rhymes in familiar books
  • Builds towers of 4 or more blocks
  • Might use one hand more than the other
  • Names items in a picture book such as a cat, bird, or dog

Movement/Physical Development

  • Stands on tiptoe
  • Kicks a ball
  • Begins to run
  • Walks up and down stairs holding on
  • Throws ball overhand
  • Makes or copies straight lines and circles

Act early by talking to your child’s doctor if your child:

  • Doesn’t use 2-word phrases (for example, “drink milk”)
  • Doesn’t know what to do with common things, like a brush, phone, fork, spoon
  • Doesn’t copy actions and words
  • Doesn’t follow simple instructions
  • Doesn’t walk steadily
  • Loses skills she once had


Three Year Old Room

We are very excited that you are interested in joining our family or that you have moved up, and are growing so fast, our goal is to work together and have fun with your child so they will be happy and healthy as they grow and learn. Each day your child will need to bring the following things and please label them for your child.

  • Back Pack
  • Jacket in Cool months
  • Extra Clothes
  • Blanket

Please, no sandals – closed toes shoes only.

Goals for the children included but are not limited to:

  1. Alphabet
  2. Numbers / Counting to 20
  3. Beginner writing
  4. Shapes
  5. Respect (Self, others and objects)
  1. Not hitting / pushing, instead encouraging them to use our words
  2. Manners (please, thank you, Yes ma’am, or No sir)
  3. Sharing / compassion
  4. Responsibility of putting things back where they go

These are just some of the goals for our 3 year olds. This program will encourage the kids to be successful by giving them goals that are realistic. Every time the child completes an achievement, they will be proud of themselves thus building self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth. We will accomplish this using positive words, positive guidance, and encouragement. Our goal is that the child will be proud of their work and be excited to share their hard work with other and their parents. Please ask your child about their day and let them tell you all about it.

Social skills are very important at this age leading up to Pre-k, please make sure you are checking the folders every day.

  • Shows a wide range of emotions
  • May get upset with major changes in routine
  • Dresses and undresses self

Language/Communication

  • Can name most familiar things
  • Understands words like “in,” “on,” and “under”
  • Says words like “I,” “me,” “we,” and “you” and some plurals (cars, dogs, cats)
  • Talks well enough for strangers to understand most of the time
  • Carries on a conversation using 2 to 3 sentences

Cognitive (learning, thinking, problem-solving)

  • Plays make-believe with dolls, animals, and people
  • Does puzzles with 3 or 4 pieces
  • Copies a circle with pencil or crayon
  • Turns book pages one at a time
  • Builds towers of more than 6 blocks
  • Screws and unscrews jar lids or turns door handle

Movement/Physical Development

  • Runs easily
  • Pedals a tricycle (3-wheel bike)
  • Walks up and down stairs, one foot on each step


Four Year Old Room

We are very excited that you are interested in joining our family, or that you have moved up, and are growing so fast, our goal is to work together plus have fun with your child so they will be happy and healthy as they grow as well as learn. Each day your child will need to bring the following things and please label them for your child. (Please do not bring toys from home they distract from our goal.)

  • Back Pack
  • Jacket in Cool months
  • Extra Clothes
  • Blanket

I am very excited to get to know your child and prepare them for Pre-k or Kindergarten.

  • Tying our shoes
  • Recognizing and writing their own names
  • Learning the alphabet and numbers 20+
  • Embrace their awesome personality building their self-esteem
  • Respect others, themselves, and things in our class
